Faculty of Engineering Comprehensive Selection SAIL Entrance Examination

We would like to introduce the "SAIL Entrance Exam", a comprehensive selection process for Faculty of Engineering.

Purpose of SAIL Entrance Examination

The University has developed and implemented its own educational program, the SAIL Program, to guide highly motivated students who are good at science and mathematics and have the ability to solve problems into excellent researchers and professionals.
Faculty of Engineering Department of Biotechnology and Life Science The SAIL entrance examination (comprehensive selection) is conducted to select students suitable for the SAIL program in the fields of bioengineering at Department of Biomedical Engineering, biomedical engineering at , natural sciences at Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering, mechanical systems engineering and natural sciences at Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, and information engineering and electrical and electronic engineering at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
In the SAIL entrance examination, applicants who have been actively engaged in the above fields are exempted from the University Entrance Test and the Individual Achievement Test, and are evaluated comprehensively based mainly on reports on the results of their activities, interview results, and the content of their research papers.

SAIL Program Philosophy

The SAIL program is aimed at high-potential high school students who want to study science and mathematics, and aims to develop the ability to go beyond existing frameworks, integrate and develop multiple fields, and pioneer new fields. The educational program includes four abilities necessary for students to set out as scientists and engineers (SAIL):

1. Study Ability
2. Analysis
3. Innovative Design
4. Logical Presentation

This is set as the first to third year of the bachelor's degree program, with the aim of cultivating talent that will be highly valued not only as researchers but also as innovative professionals in the industry.
